WHAT IS PAX TOGETHER?

PAX Together is a program which celebrates diversity, underrepresented groups, and stigmatized topics, both at PAX and in the gaming community at-large. PAX believes that games should be for everyone and made by anyone. Whether you're here to meet old friends or find new faves, we aim to have something for everybody.

THE PAX TOGETHER INTERSECTION

The PAX Together Intersection is a welcoming community space at PAX Unplugged designed for attendees to connect, gather, play, and celebrate the many identities represented throughout tabletop gaming.

For PAX Unplugged, the Intersection is presented in partnership with Tabletop Gaymers, a nonprofit organization that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion by championing the visibility and recognition of the LGBTQIA+ community through tabletop gaming.

Throughout the weekend, the Intersection will be a place to meet new people, play games, participate in activities and special programming, connect with creators and game designers, or simply take a break from the convention floor and spend some time with the community.

The Intersection will also bring together nonprofit and community organizations doing meaningful work within gaming and beyond. Stop by their tables to learn about their missions, meet the people behind their work, discover ways to get involved, and support causes making a difference.

Whether you're coming to play, create, connect, discover, or give back, there's something happening throughout the weekend.

The PAX Together Intersection welcomes women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent, and other members of historically marginalized communities, as well as allies.

ACCESS FORWARD GAMING LOUNGE

The Access Forward Gaming Lounge (AFGL) is an inclusive space for tabletop, card, and video gaming. The AFGL is disabled- and neurodivergent-led. We're guided by the idea of “Access Forward”: that everyone is a storyteller, there is space at the table for all of us, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to accessibility. The space will offer accessibility tools and support for a variety of bodies and minds, including people who are d/Deaf or Hard of Hearing; blind or low vision folks; those with mobility disabilities; and neurodivergent people (including those with intellectual, developmental, cognitive, social-communication, and mental health disabilities). Everyone is welcome, and the support offered in the Access Forward Gaming Lounge can help anyone, whether or not they identify as disabled.

The Access Forward Gaming Lounge is proud to offer a wide range of access tools, including, but not limited to: player guides to support memory and cognition, support for fine motor skills, card holders, magnification, support for/limited math, large print and high contrast dice, oversized dice, miniature holders, and others. This space is managed by our returning partner Open the Gates Gaming (OtG).

We also offer office hours to help game developers connect with accessibility consultants. We can provide a preliminary assessment and feedback, and then we will direct you toward a professional consultant best suited for your needs and budget.

ACCESS FORWARD GAMING HOURS: Friday - Saturday 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

ACCESS FORWARD OFFICE HOURS FOR ACCESSIBLE GAME DEVELOPMENT: Friday - Saturday 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM

OUR SUPPORTERS:
